Thwip!

We have signed a new lease for a new location!

DON’T PANIC!

The new location is not far away. In fact, it’s about 45 second to the south. It’s in the small shopping center right across from Chick-fil-A, on the same side of Monroe Street. In fact, it’s right here. Our new location is currently occupied by Black Box, some kind of computer-y business. It’s the rear-most location in the shopping center, right next to that nice-sized parking lot with 3 vans parked in it in the Google Maps picture in the link above.

The new store is approximately twice the size of our current store, and will not only allow the gradual addition of new product lines like t-shirts and used graphic novels, but will let us have in-store gaming for the first time ever!

Right now, our tentative moving day is Sunday March 11th. When we have more details, we’ll add them to this post!

Addition #1:

We’re looking for a few fixtures for the new location. T-shirt racks, stand-up beverage refrigerators with glass doors (like grocery stores have at their checkout), a couple of nice couches, and, well, anything else that looks usable. If anyone finds out about any local stores closing or remodeling, from convenience stores up through department stores, please give us a heads up!

Addition #2

The moving date is SET for Sunday March 11th. We’ll figure out what time sometime the week before. There WILL be a “Please Don’t Make Us Carry ALL of This Stuff Over There Sale” the weekend beforehand. We’ll post details of the sale as soon as we think of them.

Addition #3

Just in case anyone is wondering, or hearing things to the contrary, this move is a GOOD thing. We’re not skipping out on our rent, or trying to stay a step ahead of creditors, or can’t afford our current space. We’re UPGRADING. We’re taking it up a notch. We’re expanding. We are leveling.

Addition #4

Why, of course you can help us move, thanks for asking! While our current plans are to start moving at 9:30 that Sunday morning, we will be accepting volunteer help just about all day long. Help for as long or as little as you want! In fact, getting this move done in one day will only be possible due to the amount of volunteers we are expecting that day. We will naturally have free beverages and food for all volunteers.

Our Official Moving Start Time is 9:30 AM Sunday morning! If you want to help out, but can’t make it in that early, it’s okay! The night before is the switchover to Daylight Savings Time, so we’re all losing an hour of sleep anyway.  Just come by when you can and stay for as long as you’re able to. PLEASE RSVP if you know you’re coming! We will be providing pizza and beverages for those who help, and it’s good to know how many to order. Please specify a favorite topping.
